15 arrested as Flying Squad detectives crack fuel siphoning

The Flying Squad detectives on Wednesday arrested 15 suspects found siphoning fuel at Industrial Area in Nairobi.

The detectives also seized four Pumping machines and two trucks ferrying approximately 14,000 Litres of Petrol.

According to the detectives, the suspects are custody pending arraignment.

Meanwhile, three motor vehicles and a motorcycle believed to have been Stolen from Kenya have been recovered at various Locations in Tanzania.

The DCI Detectives who were on a four day operation there recovered KCH 608S Toyota AXIO, KCV 145L Toyota ISIS, KBU 418C Mitsubishi Lorry(FH) and KMEM 280Z Red BOXER.

All of them are being held at Taveta DCI Offices awaiting Identification by the rightful owners.

The motorcycle is believed to have been stolen from Muthangari Police Station.

Police say further investigations by interpol detectives ongoing.

Elsewhere, Peter Cheruiyot, a suspect of fraud believed to have Swapped over 400,000 shillings from various Equity Banks accounts last week, was early Wednesday arrested at his home in Mulot-Bomet in an Operation by the DCI Detectives from Bomet.

Several phones and Identification Cards were also confiscated.

The 26-year-old suspect is under police custody and is being interviewed.

DCI says police stations which may have received such fraud cases last week have been signaled to liaise with DCI Bomet for correspondence.
