– Arsene Wenger has received a backlash from Man United fans after suggesting he would love to coach the club
– The Red Devils’ faithfuls took their social media handle to air their blunt opinions about the ex-Arsenal boss
– Wenger also suggested that United’s four new signing will make a difference in the present squad
Arsene Wenger recently admitted it would be a dream to manage Manchester United but fans are not convinced about him being the right choice.
The former Arsenal manager made a suggestion that he would welcome the idea of being at the dug out at Old Trafford.
Wenger who was at logger-heads with United in his entire career with Arsenal also said that the four new signings made by Ole Gunnnar Solskjaer could make all the difference.
“Manchester United is a dream job for any manager,” Wenger told beIN Sports.
“At least, any manager with courage and confidence. Yes, they need – in my opinion – four first-team players. But around those players, I see a squad that is capable of challenging.
“They aren’t as far away as people think.
“The team have no pattern of play, no pattern of pressing. There is a team there, but it needs to be coached and developed. Like I said, four players and they can be challengers. For everything.
“Like I said, Manchester United is a dream job. For any coach. I have confidence, I have courage…and you’re right, I have ideas.”
Reacting to Wenger’s comments, one Man United fan said: “If Arsene Wenger becomes Man United’s next manager I will NEVER support them again… NEVER!!!”
Another added: “I’ve always loved Wenger but the last thing we need is a short-term fix, we either stick with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and see how it plays out (assuming board backs him), or move for Mauricio Pochettino in the summer.”
And a third concluded: “Wenger is a dinosaur. Irrelevant, outdated and long past his sell by date. If Man United even consider him they would be making yet another massive mistake.”
Meanwhile, Tuko.co.ke had earlier reported former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted it would be a “dream” to manage Manchester United.
Wenger has been out of job since quitting the Gunners in 2018, ending his 22-year reign at the helm of affairs at the north London club.
