Angry Manchester United fans on Sunday, September 22 took to social media to call for the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after the Red Devils succumbed to yet another defeat to a resurgent Westham side.
The reds fell to a 2-0 defeat at the London stadium and long before the game was over, fans had already turned their frustration on the manager.
Solskjaer’s side have now won just four of their last 17 matches and their loyal fans, who were initially full of optimism when he took over from Jose Mourinho, want a managerial change.
Defeat leaves Manchester United languishing in eighth in the log after garnerimg a mere eight points from six games.
United fans’ frustration will be compounded by Solskjaer’s bizarre post match interview where the manager attributed the defeat to his team lacking “that little edge”.
“As with many Premier League games it will be decided by quality at one end and today, it was them with two very good goals.
“We could have done better defending them and we should have scored ourselves,” the Norwegian said.
Chances were at a premium for United who lacked the cutting edge and despite a little resurgence at the start of the second half, Juan Mata missed a glorious chance to put the game level.
The club’s woes are only looking to sink deeper as an injury which forced striker Marcus Rashford off means United are devoid of attacking options as they prepare to face Arsenal on September 28.
