Salzburg midfielder to miss Liverpool clash due to injury

Redbull Salzburg midfielder Antoine Bernede will miss the UEFA Champions League group E match day two encounter against defending Champions, Liverpool.

Bernede was stretched out of Wednesday’s Cup win against Rapid Wien after he suffered a broken shin bone and has since been ruled out for over a month.

“Injury update: Antoine #Bernede was today diagnosed with a broken shinbone. He was able to leave the hospital in Vienna without needing an operation but with the leg in plaster. He will be able to go into recovery training again in four weeks. #ComeBackStronger, Antoine!”

Salzburg, however, is not short of midfielders to fill up the gap with the likes of Enock Mwepu and Masaka Okugawa all available to take up the place left by the French midfielder. Salzburg has a league match against Austria Wien on Saturday before traveling to face Liverpool at Anfield.
